ASSEMBL / NEW WORLD / DESKTOP PILOT

A real shopping session.
A clear approval.

Connect through your own browser, sign in directly with New World and approve the products added to your trolley. You control checkout.

Built for a first customer test.

The companion is ready to install locally. A signed-in end-to-end test is still pending. It is not an official New World integration or a Chrome Web Store release.

Connect in desktop Chrome

  1. Download and extract the companion ZIP.
  2. Open chrome://extensions in Chrome. Enable Developer mode, choose Load unpacked and select the extracted assembl-new-world-companion folder.
  3. Open the extension from Chrome’s toolbar. Choose Enable browser connection and approve access to this Kitchen Machine site and New World.
  4. Open Kitchen Machine in the same Chrome profile. Choose Connect New World, check the connection and send either your main shop or your top-up.
  5. Accept the list in the companion. Sign in directly on New World and select your store. Choose a product for each ingredient and set its quantity and unit there.
  6. Return to the companion, read the selected product and approve its addition. Review the exact trolley line before continuing.

This pilot needs desktop Chrome. It does not work inside the Codex browser or on mobile. The retailer demonstration uses sample data and needs no installation.

The price you can inspect

Each product read includes its name, identifier, selected store, quantity, unit, regular displayed price and timestamp. Club+ offers and multibuys may change the actual trolley amount. Weighted items, availability and fees still need a final check on New World.

Approvals expire after five minutes and are invalidated by a change to the product, price, quantity or store. Simulator estimates remain separate.

Your approval stays with you

The companion can perform one fixed Add action for a product you reviewed. It has no checkout or payment action. If a result is unclear, it stops for a trolley check instead of repeating the addition. Items already in the trolley are left for adjustment on New World.

Your account stays with New World

You sign in on the retailer’s own page. The companion does not read passwords, cookies, payment fields, addresses or order history. Shopping snapshots and records stay in browser-session memory and clear when the browser closes.

Disconnect & clear removes both website permissions and clears the session record. It does not sign you out or change your trolley.

What still needs proof

The website and approval checks have been tested locally. The browser link was verified in Chrome on 25 October 2026. A signed-in trial is still required covering real trolley updates, existing items, weighted produce, promotions and interrupted actions. Broader customer release also requires a permitted retailer integration route and extension distribution review.
