Connect in desktop Chrome

Download and extract the companion ZIP.
Open chrome://extensions in Chrome. Enable Developer mode, choose Load unpacked and select the extracted assembl-woolworths-companion folder.
Open the extension from Chrome’s toolbar. Choose Enable browser connection and approve access to this Kitchen Machine site and Woolworths NZ.
Open Kitchen Machine in the same Chrome profile. Choose Connect Woolworths NZ, check the connection and send either your main shop or your top-up.
Accept the list in the companion. Sign in directly on Woolworths NZ and select your store. Choose a fixed-price pack for each ingredient. This first pilot adds one pack per approval. Select a pickup store; delivery is not supported yet.
Return to the companion, read the selected product and approve its addition. Review the exact trolley line before continuing.

This pilot needs desktop Chrome. It does not work inside the Codex browser or on mobile. The retailer demonstration uses sample data and needs no installation.

The price you can inspect

Each product read includes its name, identifier, selected store, quantity, unit, displayed price and timestamp. Everyday Rewards offers and multibuys may change the actual trolley amount. Buy weighed products and adjust larger quantities directly on Woolworths NZ. They are not handled automatically in this first pilot. Availability and fees still need a final check.

Approvals expire after five minutes and are invalidated by a change to the product, price, quantity or store. Simulator estimates remain separate.

Your approval stays with you

The companion can request one Add to cart action for a fixed-price pack you reviewed. Each result requires your manual trolley check; an Add click is never labelled a confirmed addition. It has no checkout or payment action. If a result is unclear, it stops for a trolley check instead of repeating the addition. Items already in the trolley are left for adjustment on Woolworths NZ.

Your account stays with Woolworths NZ

You sign in on the retailer’s own page. The companion reads the selected product and pickup store. It does not read passwords, cookies, payment fields, delivery addresses or order history. Shopping snapshots and records stay in browser-session memory and clear when the browser closes.

Disconnect & clear removes both website permissions and clears the session record. It does not sign you out or change your trolley.

What still needs proof

The website and approval checks have been tested locally. Installation, browser linking and a signed-in trial are still required covering real trolley updates, existing items, weighted produce, promotions and interrupted actions. Broader customer release also requires a permitted retailer integration route and extension distribution review.
